About Us
Lighting the way to a better life for dogs in need
At Rescue Puppy Candles, we believe in lighting the way to a better life for dogs in need. Founded by veterinarian Victoria Guibert and her husband, Dylan, our mission began in Colombia, where we witnessed firsthand the heartbreaking conditions street dogs endure. Determined to make a difference, we started hand-pouring candles—with 100% of proceeds going directly to rescuing, sheltering, and providing medical care and food for dogs in need.
Outside of Bogotá, we founded a dog rescue in Villavicencio, where we’ve already saved 15 dogs. Our mission is to expand this sanctuary, providing a safe haven for over a 100 dogs in need.
With every candle you purchase, you’re helping give these dogs a second chance at life. Together, we can turn small flames into big change.

We first met Bambi outside a local ranch, where we discovered a mother dog and her puppies huddled beneath a tree. They were weak and in poor condition, but we spent some time comforting them before heading home. The next day, we returned to check on them—only to find that the mother and all but one of the puppies had passed away overnight.
The lone survivor was Bambi, and we knew we couldn’t leave him behind. We brought him home and began nursing him back to health. He was infested with ticks and fleas, and it took hours just to clean him up. The first few nights were uncertain—we weren’t sure if he would make it through the week. But against all odds, he pulled through.
To this day, Bambi remains the most loyal dog we have ever rescued.

One night, while driving through a desolate cow pasture in El Llano, Colombia, Victoria’s car ran out of gas—leaving her stranded in the middle of the field with at least a two-hour wait before I could reach her on my motorbike with fuel. With nothing but time and absolute darkness stretching for miles, she decided to take a walk.
As she wandered, she suddenly heard faint whimpers coming from a nearby bush. Following the sound, she discovered a tiny, frail white dog, barely clinging to life. One of its ears was half-missing, and it was so weak that had she not found it that night, it surely wouldn’t have survived.
By the time I arrived with the gas, Victoria had already decided—we had another rescue on our hands. The little pup looked like a miniature polar bear, so we named her Polar. Believe it or not, Polar was in even worse condition than Bambi. It took nearly an entire day just to remove all the ticks and fleas, and we truly thought she wouldn’t make it through the next 24 hours.
But against all odds, Polar pulled through—and today, she is one of the most beloved dogs in our rescue.

Coco was one of our very first rescues, and today, she lives with us in the United States. Her journey began in Tijuana, where she was part of a family that was supposed to be rescued together. Tragically, both of her parents and all four of her siblings didn’t survive—Coco was the only one who made it.
When we found her, she had two broken legs, and it took time, care, and dedication to help her heal. Despite everything she endured, she never gave up. Coco is one of our most beloved dogs, and her incredible resilience is what sparked our mission to save more dogs in need.
